IDC Open Water presentations

For many hours the classroom and the pool of Buddha View have served as the training place for the IDC candidates. After seven days of serious study and presentations the boat and the sea was finally the new practicing area for our highly respected international company.

As the boat leaves the harbor for dive site Japanese Garden, everyone gets ready for the first Open Water presentations.

Once arrived at their destination, the IDC candidates first had to complete their snorkel test: 800 meter swim with mask, snorkel and fins. Bart was clearly excited about it.

'Do you see that big square rock at the right? Swim as fast as possible to that rock and back while snorkeling keeping your faces in the water.'

If this would have been the (Eurovision) Song Contest, then the points are divided as follows: Turkey 12 points, 10 points for The Netherlands and China swims away with 9 points.

The hand signal that Chris gives in his briefing suggests that sharks can be found at Japanese Garden. During the briefing Chris explains, however, that this hand signal indicates who is the instructor underwater.

With the PADI slates in his hands, Ed is ready to give his briefing. We are waiting for Chris, who will judge him very severely.

In the other group led by Marco and helped by Shu, Bart briefs his five point descend. After the briefings everyone disappeared into the blue and successfully accomplished the first Open Water presentations.
